Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct
The Typhoon Shelter Precinct is a newly revitalised 150-metre-long promenade that honours the historic culture of Hong Kong’s typhoon shelters. Formerly known as Ah King’s Slipway, the short, scenic route is a leisurely walk that overlooks the sparkling waters dotted with luxurious yachts, traditional flat-bottomed sampans, and the floating homes of a small but tight-knit community of boat dwellers — some offer a floating dinner experience of “typhoon shelter-style” seafood. Settle upon the steps of the fence-free harbour front for a full vantage of a picture-perfect Victoria Harbour sunset.
From the main entrance of The Park Lane, turn right and make the crossing towards Victoria Park. Walk along the edge of Gloucester Road, slight right into the park and turn left at the playground. Head towards the harbour over the footbridge. The Typhoon Shelter Precinct begins on your left. Approx. eight mins.
